Poems of
Remembrance
Page 3 - Updated February 14, 2006.
There were so many beautiful poems written by so many people that I was finding the web
page hard to edit with just one page of Remembrances. I've decided that I'm going to have
a total of ten poems per page, and when that fills up, I'll just add more pages. All poems
on this page are copyrighted by their respective authors. Blessed be.

MY ONE TRUE LOVE
All of my life, Ive dreamed of someone like you to shower
with all my love,
Then one day, out of the blue, you stumbled into my life
like a gift from above.
When I looked into your eyes, I saw gentleness, kindness, understanding
and a lifetime of heaven with you.
Though, now we spend our days apart, I always carry you
in a special corner of my heart.
No one has ever touched me in the ways that you have,
youve touched my very soul.
So my darling, I gave you what I prized the very most--
I gave you my heart, and the rest of my life to hold...
But you see, the rest of our earthly lives wasnt to be
all that long,
But as you watch and wait from above,
no matter where my life goes, know only this...
YOU ARE MY ONE TRUE LOVE!
To My Loving Husband,
John M. Snyder,
Wherever you are!

Walk With Gratitude In Your Heart
Erase all hate, and pain, and fear.
Embrace love, tolerance, and good will.
Do not your enemies repay.
Pray with all hope, and a tear-
Be filled with peace, and good cheer.
Ask God to unload all pain,
And, ask to be filled with His strength,
To face yet, another great day.
Ask, that gratitude may fill your heart.
Yes, find time in the beginning of your day
To ask for strength, and a little hope.
So, that for this day only, we may cope.
I need a you. I need a we, I need an us.
We all travel this life together,
Never are we far from each other.
Just walk into the day- just for today
Dedicated to the wonderful memory of Tom B.
who taught me much about God and life.

From Thursday to Thursday
From Thursday to Thursday
with Twenty-Five years between
GOD loaned you to me
My beauty QUEEN.
We Lived, We Loved
We Laughed, We Played
We Cried, We Hurt
We Healed, We Prayed ,
We did all the things
He intended us too
Then GOD said, "SHELLEY
I've a better plan for you
He took you from me
For his own worth
But "My Darlin", he left me
Your LOVE on Earth.
Your Mommie
I Lost my daughter at age 25.
She was born on a Thursday and was taken from me on a Thursday.
I wrote her a poem the nite she left.

A Room Full of Flowers
A room full of flowers
And friends and love
Even a heavenly presents
was there from above
A Eulogy, A Poem, A Service
so rare. I never experienced
anything to compare
The love in that room
was abundantly felt
It filled my heart with peace
Till I thought it would melt
The service is over
And friends have gone home
the house is all empty
But, I'm not alone
Be Happy my Darling
but one thing, for i am through
That's to tell you Sweet Angel
I'm so proud of you!
Your Mommie
I wrote this, right after the service.

Merry Christmas, Dear Family
Merry Christmas, dear family
the stockings are hung
the tree is all trimmed
waiting for santa to come.
The house is all decorated
with bright colored lights
the tinsel is hanging
all shimmery and bright
Last minute shopping, but wait
all is not well
someone is missing
It"s our Daughter Shell.
Oh no, she's not missing
She's where she should be
She's our own SPECIAL ANGEL
At the top of the tree.
Christmas was very very hard.

MEMORIAL DAY
When you feel anger remember one thing,
Never utter a word that you don't mean,
Words that come back to haunt your nights.
When a loved one is forever out of sight.
When you feel anger, think, clear your mind.
Let your voice be gentle, words always kind.
Never bruise the heart of one you love,
A heart as true as a snow white dove.
Your anger will fade, their hurt will last.
And the time will come to face the past.
That will be the time when we have to pay
For all the pain we caused along our way.
My beloved parents are gone from me
But their precious faces I can still see.
Smiles on the lips, sadness on the brow.
If only I could wipe that sadness away now.
I gave them smiles, some sadness too.
Their love for me was always true.
For the smiles I gave I feel so blessed.
For the sadness I gave I feel distressed
Now I go to the place where they lie.
I sit beside them with a tear in my eye.
On their resting place I leave a flower.
I leave my destiny with a higher power.

DEDICATED TO BOONIE
It was with joy
that I brought you into this world
It was with sadness
that I laid you to rest
It is with love
that I will remember you all the
days of my life
I wrote this the night that my youngest son Boonie was murdered.

In Memory of Hilda
Hilda came to us in 1904
Now she's returned through heavens door
But what a legacy she left below!
Millions of seeds for us to sow
A flighty girl full of mischief & fun
She truly was destined to follow the sun
Her life's ambition to outshine that thing
Dry everyone's tears, celebrate, sing
Her early years spent on England's shore
God's precious gifts - two sons she bore
So soon life's cruelty struck, she's alone
"It'll be alright, boys",she said in a comforting tone
Through England's dark hour she worked hard & long
Not thinking of herself, just making others strong
And in this dark hour another union took place
Another son another proud look on Hilda's face
Her life was tough, tribulations many
But to any stranger she'd give her last penny
But her gifts & love were limited there
Whether she came or went not many gave a care
So with toothbrush & comb & little else more
Off she set to some distant shore
It didn't take long for her greatness to spread
Her life had fullfillment, no more dread
On by one her sons at her side
Life once more was a joyous ride
It grew, & it grew - her circle of friends
She had no peers her love knew no ends
She encompassed them all from ninety to three
And still it grew her family tree
But sadly too soon her knees gave out
From helping to carry everyone's burden about
Her ears wore out, an aid installed
So many problems she'd heard always enthralled
Her poor eyes too they needed assistance
So much looking out for everyone's interest
But she never complained it was her honour
Is it any wonder that we all loved her
To the very end it was others first
Even when she was dying of thirst
No more will we hear the tap of the cane
Hear her snoring that familiar refrain
But, Hilda, mother, grandmother,
and friend, you'll always remain

In Memory of Grandpa
His way of laughing would light up his face
So quick with a joke, anytime, anyplace...
His gift to make us smile with the simple things
A Craftsman he was and the wooden toys he would bring
His hobby was in that little cellar workshop...
Spending hours full of love, never wanting to stop
He made crafts by the dozens for our Tuesday nights...
Family and laughter, till it was time to turn off the lights
Oh, How we cherish a sweet wooden gift...
Made by those hands, gives the heart a little lift
Grandpa felt family was most important of all...
Dinners together, visits, paint party night, a phone call
He loved those the most, cause family is dear...
The stories and harmonica we all loved to hear
Simple times at the dining room table we all shared...
Crosswords, playing Boggle, or cards for as long as we dared
At Gramma's and Grandpa's we all loved to stay...
For a love so special at anytime, come night or day
Grandpa may be gone now, but the Love still does remain
We still visit Gramma and Grandpa's house sunshine or rain.
